Visiting Vancouver: The Once in a Lifetime Thing You Have to do when in Vancouver

If you find yourself visiting Vancouver this summer and not sure what to do or how to plan your trip, we got you covered. I wrote a weekend travel itinerary for two days in Vancouver that you can check out by clicking HERE, but in this article I want to talk about the once in a lifetime experience you can have while in Vancouver. I will always remember this and I will always bring it up into a travel conversation and it’s something i hope I can do again.

Take a Seaplane Tour!

Yup, there it is, take a seaplane tour over Vancouver. There are not too many cities or places in the world where you’re able to do something like this, especially at the price we were able to get it at. Hiking or walking around a city is awesome and I love it, but there is nothing like being in the sky over the city looking down and what’s below that truly let’s you grasp how incredible it all is.

They will load you up in a small seaplane where you then will take off from the water, fly over the Gulf Islands National Park before looping back over the city and then touching back down in the water. Truly made me feel alive for the 30 minute tour.

Even if you’re nervous or afraid of small aircrafts I can assure you it’s completely safe with experienced pilots who do this day in and day out.

After your tour, you can grab breakfast or lunch on the Canada’s Place boardwalk where can sit outside and watch the planes take off and land as well as cruise ships board as well. Really is an awesome way to spend a day in Vancouver and truly appreciate the beauty of the city.

This is the tour we did linked here

This one also included a free shuttle and access to the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park which was also awesome in it’s on way. Climbing on suspension bridges through the trees over the gorge, walking through the green forest, it’s a lot of fun as well and a great deal where you can package the seaplane tour with the Capilano Bridge Park all for $200. Most places you’ll visit the plane or helicopter tour in itself costs more than $200

FAQ’s

Is it safe for children? Absolutely is!

What do I need for it? Bring a form of ID and of course your camera

When should I get there? Get there at least 45 minutes before your scheduled departure time so you can find the place, sign in, fill out the waivers and get all settled and ready to go.

Is it really worth $200? 1000% yes. If you only want to do the plane and not the park then that is only $150, but I highly recommend doing the park as well, one of the staples when visiting Vancouver and you’d be saving money by packaging them.

This is still something I bring up from time to time I loved it that much and it’s something that will stick with me forever. One of my friends is visiting Vancouver this summer with her family and I told her that she absolutely needs to add this to her list of things to do there.
