Nestled just outside of Buffalo, NY at the U.S and Canadian border your jaw will drop in awe of the beautiful falls! Whether you’re looking for thrilling adventures, breathtaking views, or just a relaxing getaway, you’ll find it all here. Here’s a guide to the top attractions and activities you won’t want to miss.
1. Maid of the Mist
No visit to Niagara Falls is complete without experiencing the iconic Maid of the Mist boat tour. This thrilling ride takes you right into the heart of the falls, where you’ll feel the powerful spray and hear the roar of the water up close. Truly an experience unlike any other at a very reasonable price! Be sure to wear the provided rain poncho and proper shoes because you WILL get wet!
2. Cave of the Winds
For another exhilarating adventure, check out the Cave of the Winds. You’ll take an elevator down to the base of Bridal Veil Falls and walk along wooden paths right next to the rushing water. The Hurricane Deck is where you’ll get the most intense experience, with water pounding all around you. Another chance to see the falls up close and personal!
3. Devil’s Hole State Park
Just a short drive from the falls, Devil’s Hole State Park offers a quieter, scenic experience. You can hike along the Niagara River Gorge and enjoy stunning views of the river and the dramatic landscape. It’s a great spot for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful escape. One of my favorite places to venture too after the craziness of the falls area. A gorgeous walk along the water and a time to enjoy quiet serenity at no cost!
4. Fallsview Casino Resort
Part of Niagara’s bustling nightlife is the Fallsview Casino Resort. It’s one of the largest casinos in Canada and offers a wide range of games, from slots to table games. The casino also features a luxury hotel, fine dining, and live entertainment. End your night here at the tables, watching a sporting event, a show or at the famous “Dragonfly Nightclub” for some music, dancing and fun!
5. Downtown Niagara on the Canadian side
The Canadian side of Niagara Falls is home to a variety of shops and boutiques. Clifton Hill is a popular street lined with souvenir shops, restaurants, and attractions. You’ll find everything from Canadian-themed gifts to unique trinkets to remember your trip by. There are go-karts, a Ferris wheel, mini-golf, Ripley’s believe-it-or-not museum, Indoor rides, haunted houses, restaurants,arcades you name it! A fun and lively atmosphere to explore and just a short walk from the Falls as well!
6. Niagara SkyWheel
For a panoramic view of the falls and the surrounding area, hop on the Niagara SkyWheel. This giant Ferris wheel offers a bird’s-eye view of the falls and the city, especially beautiful at night when everything is lit up.
7. Journey Behind the Falls
Another must-see attraction is Journey Behind the Falls. This experience takes you through tunnels carved behind the falls, where you’ll emerge at observation decks with stunning views of the water cascading down. It’s a unique perspective you won’t get anywhere else.
8. Skylon Tower
Also located on the Canadian side is the Skylon Tower! An observation tower with a rotating and revolving rooftop and restaurant. A gorgeous and scenic view overlooking the falls. - The Keg Steakhouse + Bar: Located on the Canadian side, The Keg offers delicious steaks and seafood with a fantastic view of the falls. It’s a great spot for a special dinner.
- Skylon Tower Revolving Dining Room: For a truly memorable dining experience, check out the Skylon Tower. The revolving dining room provides 360-degree views of the falls while you enjoy a gourmet meal.
- Queenston Heights Restaurant: If you’re exploring the Canadian side, this restaurant offers a charming atmosphere and a menu full of comfort foods. It’s perfect for a relaxed lunch or dinner.

Niagara Falls offers a blend of natural beauty, thrilling attractions, and comfortable accommodations, making it a fantastic destination for any traveler. With lots to do it makes it a beautiful and relaxing weekend trip. I do reccomend bringing your passport and heading to the Canadian side as there is definitely more to do on that side vs the US side. But both parts are great and lots of fun.
