Things to do in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studious Orlando

Step into a realm where magic thrives, spells come to life, and the enchantment of Harry Potter’s world unfolds before your eyes. Universal Studios’ The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a place where fans of the beloved series can immerse themselves in the wizarding universe like never before. From exploring the bustling streets of Diagon Alley to soaring above Hogwarts Castle, here’s your comprehensive guide to making the most of your magical journey in the world of Harry Potter at Universal Studios.

Diagon Alley

Diagon Alley is located in Unviersal Studios and is towards there back of the park. As you step through the iconic brick wall at King’s Cross Station, prepare to be transported to the bustling wizarding hub of Diagon Alley. Take a stroll down its cobbled streets lined with quirky shops and magical establishments. Stop by Ollivanders to witness the magic of wand selection or indulge in sweet treats at Honeydukes.

You can also stop into Fred and George’s famous shop ” Weasley Wizard Wheezes” for an awesome experience looking at all the gags and different candies and products available in the store!

Don’t forget to exchange your Muggle currency for Gringotts Bank notes at the Gringotts Money Exchange for an authentic experience!

In Diagon Alley they of course have the famous ride “Escape From Gringotts” in what is a thrilling indoor roller coaster where you try to escape from the Dark Lord himself. This is a ride that should be suitable for all ages as it is not too fast and does not have any crazy big drops, but does give you a thrilling experience with sudden jerks and movements and screens to watch as you go about the ride.

If you’re someone who likes to get the fast passes then go ahead. But for a ride like this I think you need to wait in the real line at least once as part of the fun is standing in line in my opinion. While they move through very quick, you get to walk through Gringotts and see the goblin animatronics working at their desks just as in the movies! Go in the cellars and admire the craftsmanship and props. Honestly part of the fun is waiting in line!

Exploring Hogsmead

Located in the Islands of Adventure part of Universal you can either cross the Hogwarts Bridge into the picturesque village of Hogsmeade, or take a leisurely train ride from Diagon Alley over! Hogsmeade, where snow-capped rooftops and charming shops await. Browse for magical supplies at Dervish and Banges or pick out your very own magical creature at the Magical Menagerie. Spend time shopping for wands, candy and other souveneirs and even catch a show on the stage! Musical acts and dancing performances take place all the time here as well, so even the non-thrill seekers have something to be entertained by!

Take a ride with Hagrid on “Hagrid’s Motorbike adventure!” A thrilling ride which blasts you around the tracks just like you’re riding on Hagrid’s magic motorcycle! For a calmer thrill, check out “Flight of the Hippogriff”

But be sure to visit the iconic Hogwarts Castle, home to the mesmerizing Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride. As mentioned in the previous section part of the fun is waiting in line here. If you do the fast pass you will breeze on through but you won’t have any time to stop and admire the amazing work that has gone into creating a castle that looks just like in the movies. You will explore through the gardens, walk the halls of Hogwarts, see moving paintings, watch ghosts fly by and admire all the other tiny details that would often go overlooked! It truly is an incredible experience just to walk through!

The ride itself is great as well as you fly on a broom and it takes you on a journey around Hogwarts with Harry, Ron and Hermoine. Note that if you are prone to motion sickness, take precautions with some Dramamine before getting on as you are looking at a moving screen the majority of the ride
